August – 2025
I’ve always been a believer that human beings have unlimited potential. I believe that we and everything around us that God created are intrinsically connected. We were set here to be stewards of this earth. I’ve always felt a connection to all around me and a yearning to help those in need. I have been on a search to find my tribe, those I feel a kinship with. There is a great freedom to be able to pick up and change your surroundings. Between 2023 – 2025 I have lived (more than 1 month) in 4 states and spent at least a week in 10 others. I’ve met so many interesting people by putting myself out there using meetup.com, stitch.net, and eventbrite.com . Book clubs, Qi Chong, Tai Chi, yoga, belly dancing, movies, dinners, nature walks, dragon boating, meditation, creative writing, board games, women travel groups, musical theater, beach walks, silent piano beach concerts, line dancing. I mention these things to let you know if you are looking to be more adventurous that you can. Your first step is to figure out what brings you joy and take a step to do one thing that would do that. We are here to live life not just exist.
As I was discovering those things that bring me joy, I started say yes more to me and no to others that were stealing my joy. My travels took me to National Harbor Maryland at a transformative retreat. It was the most peaceful and serene experience and there I was sure of my tribe. I spent a week taking in beautiful sunsets over the Potomac and the most fragrant floral smells. Learning about human potential, compassion, and capabilities all within each of us. I had been to Washington DC several times and the beauty of National Harbor, although very commercial was a sight to see. I used my package with Sundance Vacations to stay at the Hyatt Place for less than $371.00 for an entire week. The area is walkable, parking is very expensive but I was able to book a monthly rate cheaper than the weekly rate that I was going to pay.
As I mentioned before I enjoy visiting local and national parks in the places I visit. In Ohio we have metro parks that are present throughout the state. I grew up in the city we used to spend days riding our bicycles for miles to get to the parks, my surprise when my sister told me of a hidden waterfall located in just a couple of miles away from where we grew up. This gem was hidden for years and rediscovered and is now providing a source of serenity and calm for those in the midst of a cement jungle.
I traveled back to Florida on the Amtrak Auto Train to land at my residence for the next 6 months.
Miles traveled 794 driven, 844 train, 1960 flying. Short and sweet photo album.
